Russia: Turkey Holiday Prices 3 Times Higher than UAE

A comparison of holiday prices in Russia shows that Turkey is three times more expensive than the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), made important statements about destinations and prices for the 2023 tourism season. Lomidze stated that a Turkish holiday is twice as expensive as a holiday in the UAE, and that hotel prices in Turkey are between 50% to 3 times higher than those of similar segment hotels in the UAE. Nevertheless, Lomidze said that Turkey would be the most demanded destination.

While Lomidze said that the situation in the domestic market is not bad, she noted that Crimea will be one of the top 3 preferred destinations for the 2023 season. However, she pointed out that demand for Crimea will be 30% lower than before the war.

The tourism industry representative also highlighted that Thailand will be one of the top 5 destinations with the highest demand during the summer months. Among the 30 countries with regular flights from Russia, Lomidze said that Turkey, the UAE, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Seychelles, Maldives, and Egypt are the countries where direct flights for seaside holidays can be taken for tourism purposes.

Maya Lomidze also estimated that a one-week family vacation in a good 5-star hotel in Turkey will cost 300,000 rubles in June and 350-380,000 rubles in July. However, she predicted that there may be a decrease in the number of tourists in Turkey due to high prices.

In conclusion, according to the statements of Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of ATOR, in Russia, Turkey's holiday prices are higher than those of the UAE, but Turkey is expected to be one of the most demanded destinations. Thailand is predicted to be one of the top destinations with the highest demand during the summer months.
